Services

Dr. April Berry-Fletcher is committed to providing innovative and effective treatments for mental health challenges. One of the most promising methods available is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). This unique approach combines the therapeutic benefits of ketamine, a well-researched medication that has been approved by the FDA.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is designed to address a range of concerns, including the wish for personal growth, treatment of depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

During KAP sessions, ketamine is self-administered in a controlled and supportive environment, allowing you to experience rapid improvements in mood and emotional resilience. KAP can facilitate deeper exploration of thoughts and feelings, enabling more profound therapeutic breakthroughs.

How Does It Work?

  1. Preparation: Before beginning KAP, we conduct a thorough assessment to understand your unique needs and mental health history.  We identify your intentions for KAP and discuss additional modalities, such as EMDR, which can accelerate progress.

  2. Ketamine Administration: In a safe and comfortable setting, you will revisit your intentions for KAP.   You will place under your tongue the 'troche' or tablet of ketamine that has been prescribed and sent to you by mail.

  3. The KAP Session.  You will swish this around your mouth for about 15 minutes.  The effects typically begin within 10 minutes.

  4. Therapeutic Exploration: As the ketamine takes effect, you will engage in a 'journey'.  The point is to focus inward and notice what arises. The combination of our prior work and the ketamine journey will allow for a deeper exploration of emotions and experiences, fostering insights and healing.

  5. Integration: Typically within 24 hours after the session, we meet to integrate your experiences and insights into your daily life, ensuring lasting benefits from the therapy.

Why Choose KAP?

  • Rapid Relief: Many clients experience significant improvements in their symptoms within hours or days, making KAP a compelling option for those who have not found relief through traditional therapies.

  • Holistic Approach: KAP addresses both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health, providing a comprehensive treatment experience.

  • Supportive Environment: I am  dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space for your healing journey.
